17-19: Action Central During Fall Market Week In New York
This
year the New York International Carpet Show opens for buying on Sunday
morning, September 17, at 10am at the historic Armory on Lexington
Avenue and 26th Street. The show runs for three full days with hours
from 10am - 6pm each day. There will be a reception on Monday from 4-6
pm during show hours.
The buzz in the industry is that the New York International Carpet Show
has become established as a major trade show with four years of
consistent growth and positive feedback from the market. NYICS offers
many benefits for buyers. There is an excellent lineup of top importers
in one central location with an eclectic mix of high-end products.
Buyers like the timing in September. And they like the New York City
location. They like seeing fresh, high-margin handmade goods to beef up
their inventories for Fall with fabulous one-of-a-kinds.
Exhibitors at NYICS include some of the more creative and market-savvy
importers, with tantalizing new designer quality introductions leading
the way. Buyers find carpets with well-executed transitional and
contemporary looks that fare well at the upper end of the
style-conscious market. Many feel that this is where today's market is
strongest.
NYICS has secured a definite niche in the handmade carpet industry. "We
welcome all ORRA members to the show and to our reception. We have good
momentum and see a steady advance in the quality and number of
exhibitors," show founder and owner Dennis Dodds commented. "NYICS is
action central during Fall Market Week and there's a definite energy in
the Armory with these top-line importers under the same roof at the same
time."

Antique Rug Connection, Apadana, Ariana, Asha Carpets, AzadUSA, Caravan
